WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT FROM A TO Z

Your website looks good. But does it sell?

We build websites for small and mid-sized businesses that bring in enquiries and keep working after launch. Enquiries, posts and reports can run automatically later, because we plan for it while building.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

What a website that only looks good costs you

Most websites don't fail on design. They fail on things you can't see.

  • Google can't find you

People searching for your service in your area end up with a competitor.

  • ChatGPT recommends others

More and more customers ask an AI. It only names companies whose website it understands.

  • Visitors leave after three seconds

A slow page loses customers before they have read a word.

  • Your copy talks about you, not your customers

Visitors can't tell why they should call you of all people.

  • Not everyone can use your site

Too little contrast or no keyboard support, and some of your customers never reach the enquiry form.

  • An image or a font turns into a legal warning

Photos without a licence or embedded Google Fonts without consent have already led to legal warnings and court rulings (Munich Regional Court I, 20 January 2022, 3 O 17493/20).

  • You type up every enquiry by hand

Enquiries get lost in the inbox, and nobody replies while you are with a customer.

  • Nothing happens after launch

No new posts, no numbers, no social media. The website ages, your business doesn't.

THE PROCESS

How your website is built, from A to Z

Eleven steps, each with a result you can check. You always know where we are.

  1. Phase 1 of 4 Plan

    1. Step 1: Planning

The problem: A website without a goal becomes a brochure nobody reads.

We work out whom you want to reach and what problems your customers have. A keyword and competitor analysis shows what they search for and who ranks there today. We also decide which processes should run automatically later: enquiries, appointments, posts, reports.

Checkpoint: A site plan with target group, search terms and automations for you to approve.

    2. Step 2: Domain and email

The problem: Moving a site loses rankings and emails.

We register your domain or transfer it and set up DNS and email. If the new site replaces an old one, we redirect every old address to the new one with a 301.

Checkpoint: Every old address leads to a page, none ends in a 404 error.

  2. Phase 2 of 4 Design

    1. Step 3: Design and colour palette

The problem: Beautiful colours nobody can read.

We derive a colour palette from your brand and measure every combination of text and background before it is used.

Checkpoint: Every text colour reaches at least 4.5 : 1 contrast (WCAG 2.2 AA).

Example: how we check a colour palette

Every combination of text and background is measured. Below 4.5 : 1 it is not used for text.

      • Body text on dark blue

        #EAEAF2 / #050D1A

        Contrast 16.3 : 1

        Suitable for text

      • Light teal on dark blue

        #80EDED / #050D1A

        Contrast 14.1 : 1

        Suitable for text

      • Brand colour on dark blue

        #00D4D4 / #050D1A

        Contrast 10.5 : 1

        Suitable for text

      • Dark teal on white

        #007A7A / #FFFFFF

        Contrast 5.2 : 1

        Suitable for text

      • Brand colour on white

        #00D4D4 / #FFFFFF

        Contrast 1.8 : 1

        Only for areas and lines

    2. Step 4: Copy that sells

The problem: “We are a young, dynamic team” convinces nobody.

We write from your customers' point of view: their problem, your solution, the next step. Every page has one goal and one clear button.

Checkpoint: Every page answers: what do I get, why you, what do I do now?

    3. Step 5: Images

The problem: The wrong photo can bring a legal warning, a large one ruins loading time.

We use your own or licensed images with proof of licence. AI-generated images are labelled. Every image is resized, delivered in modern formats and gets alternative text.

Checkpoint: Every image has a documented source and alternative text.

  3. Phase 3 of 4 Build and secure

    1. Step 6: Technology: Google, AI search, speed, automation

The problem: Search engines and AI assistants don't understand the page, and it loads too slowly.

We build clean headings, a sitemap and structured data for Google. An llms.txt and clear answers help AI assistants like ChatGPT. The page is prerendered and delivered lean. We build forms and content with an interface so they can be connected to your processes later.

Checkpoint: Lighthouse scores for SEO and best practices, Core Web Vitals after launch.

    2. Step 7: Accessibility

The problem: People who can't use the page don't send enquiries.

We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA: contrast, keyboard use, heading structure, labelled forms. Every page is checked automatically with axe before it goes live.

Checkpoint: The axe check reports no violations.

    3. Step 8: Legal and data protection

The problem: Legal warnings come from small things nobody sees.

An imprint and privacy policy are mandatory, without them the site technically cannot go live. Fonts are hosted on our server instead of Google's. YouTube and maps only load after a click. Visitor statistics only count with consent, without cookies and without third parties. We label AI chats and AI content as the EU AI Act requires.

Checkpoint: No connection to third parties before the visitor agrees.

    4. Step 9: Security and operations

The problem: A hacked or expired site loses trust and rankings.

Encrypted connection, security headers, security updates and a daily backup. We monitor availability around the clock.

Checkpoint: The site is reachable via HTTPS and there is a current backup.

  4. Phase 4 of 4 Launch and grow

    1. Step 10: Launch and handover

The problem: Many agencies keep the domain or the logins and make switching hard.

We launch the site and hand over all logins. Domain and content belong to you, and you can switch provider at any time.

Checkpoint: The domain is registered in your name and you have all logins.

    2. Step 11: Measure and grow, automatically

The problem: After launch the site stands still and nobody knows whether it works.

We set up Google Search Console and cookie-free visitor statistics (Matomo) and review them monthly. On request we connect automations: enquiries are answered and filed at once, new blog posts go out to your social media channels. Your Google Business Profile stays up to date.

Checkpoint: A monthly report with visitors, search terms and enquiries.

Included, not an extra

Accessibility, search engine basics and legal pages are not add-on modules with us. A website without them isn't finished.

  • Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA
  • SEO basics and structured data
  • Prepared for AI search (llms.txt)
  • Imprint and privacy policy required before launch
  • Interfaces for later automation

This site was built exactly this way

catinity.com follows the same rules: prerendered, no Google Fonts, with sitemap, structured data and llms.txt. Check it yourself with our website check.

One limit we state openly. We only measure a website's speed after launch, because before that your real content and images are missing and any number would be flattering.

Check catinity.com yourself

Measured before, measured after

Before the project starts, our website check tests your current site. That is the baseline.

After launch we test the new site with the same check. You see the difference in black and white.

We only consider the site accepted once accessibility, SEO and best practices reach at least 90 in Lighthouse and axe reports no violations. Otherwise we improve it at no extra cost.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to provide?

Your logo, photos if you have them, and a conversation about your business and your customers. We write the copy, you approve it.

Who owns the domain and the content?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, text and images belong to you, and you get all logins. You can switch to another provider at any time.

I already have a website. Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the move is done properly. We redirect every old address to the matching new one and check afterwards that none leads nowhere.

Does my website have to be accessible?

Since 28 June 2025 the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) applies to many online services for consumers, such as shops and bookings. Micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees and no more than €2 million annual turnover or balance sheet total are exempt for services. If you run a shop or a booking function, we check your case. We always build for accessibility anyway, because it gets more customers to the enquiry.

What does the EU AI Act mean for my website?

If you use an AI chat, visitors must be able to tell they are talking to an AI. AI-generated or edited images and videos, and AI texts on matters of public interest, must also be labelled (Art. 50 EU AI Act, since 2 August 2026). We check what applies to your website and implement the labelling.

What does it cost after launch?

The ongoing care plan costs €79 per month: security updates, round-the-clock monitoring, daily backups and small text changes. Automations such as social media or enquiry replies we put together in the offer for your business.

What does “prepared for automation” mean?

Forms don't just send enquiries by email but also to an interface. Blog posts are stored in a structured way. That way replies, filing in a CRM or social media posts can be connected later without rebuilding the website.

Do you work for private individuals?

No. Catinity works exclusively with businesses, self-employed professionals and organisations.

Do you know where your website stands today?
